In 2014, the Pennsylvania Game Commission granted the Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA), a special Pennsylvania elk tag to be raffled yearly at the Elk Country Visitors Center in Benezette, Pennsylvania with the proceeds going toward elk conservation in Pennsylvania. The raffle winner enjoys an extended hunt season from September 1 through the General Elk Season, as well as the ability to hunt in all open Elk Hunt Zones.
With an established record of exceptional success guiding in the elk range, ECO conceptualized the donation of a guided elk hunt to the lucky KECA tag winner as part of the tag package in an effort to raise more money for the conservation of elk in Pennsylvania. From 2014 through 2019, ECO partnered with KECA to deliver amazing adventures to the KECA Raffle Elk Tag hunter and successfully harvested 6 exceptional bull elk.
While ECO and KECA have recently severed their arrangement, ECO continues to offer full support to the successful raffle tag winner with the option of retaining ECO for FREE guiding, meals, and lodging during their winning season.
The 2020 winner chose to hunt with ECO, though we were no longer the "partnered" outfitter, and harvested the new nontypical state record bull and #6 bull in the world. If one is fortunate enough to draw this tag, investigate, weigh your options, but most of all, don't feel pressured to trust the best tag in the country to an outfitter you're not comfortable with. The tag and the opportunity that goes with it are far to valuable.
